So I love Christmas.
I love the holidays, I love family time and I love mashed potatoes that are full of butter, and you make a little cave and fill it with gravy – like how could you not like that?
But I also know how the holidays can come closer, and the money stress starts to come rolling in. As we all want to buy our friends and family members everything we can, but honestly, often we can’t afford to.
Plus it is always hard to figure out what to give, since usually everyone has what you are giving them. Right?
SO – let me give you my favourite idea that was inspired the year we bought our home. We had to put together a few $50 Secret Santa gifts – and I was torn about what to give.
So after a lot of thought, I came up with the idea of making homemade infused alcohol. I bought mason jars, the main alcohols and then whatever I was going to infuse it with, and got to work.
I made,
Vanilla Vodka
Apple Cinnamon Whiskey
Cucumber and Mint Gin, and
Strawberry and Lime Tequila.
Then I made the jars super cute – and wrapped them up into a nice little four pack.
And honestly – it was the FAVOURITE Secret Santa gift! Like everyone wanted them – and gave us updates on what they liked the most.
This is also amazing if you are on a budget, and have leftover booze at your house you aren’t going to drink. Mix it up with something nice!
